What We're Up To

The Topco Media Corporate Social Networking Conference, which was scheduled for 4, 5 and 6 August, has been delayed upon request of the conference's key sponsorship partners. We will keep you up to date with developments regarding the new dates for the conference.

Christine attended the Geek Retreat in Johannesburg on the weekend of the 20th of June. This closed event aimed to gather trail-blazers in the online media sphere to talk about innovation and ideas to improve the Internet and related services in South Africa.

Out and About

On 22 May we attended the PR Net event where Sarah Rice from Sentient Communications discussed online PR. Her presentation looked at online PR campaign strategies, positioning your brand through online PR and taking control of the messages conveyed via online PR. The bi-monthly GeekDinner took place at Neighbourhood in Long Street. GeekDinner is an industry event that combines good food, sponsored wine and networking with industry-related talks. We had the honour of attending the rebranding launch of SynthaSite, now known as Yola. Founded by Vinny Lingham, Yola brings websites to the people by allowing you to build and host professional looking websites. The launch took place at the FTV lounge in Cape Town, take a look at some of the pictures from the evening.

Christine attended NetSquared, a monthly meet-up that provides a platform for cross-sector collaboration which took place on 2 June. Sign up on the website to receive notifications of future meet-ups.
