Dear subscriber,

The fourth month of 2009 is here and due to all the public holidays in South Africa, there are just eighteen working days in April, and that is no April Fool's joke! We hope you enjoyed the different April Fool's stories that circulated the media, here are three of our favourites:

What we're up to

Christine has been invited to speak at the Corporate Social Networking Conference in August 2009. The aim of the conference is to foster an understanding of the power of an online strategy with delegates.

Out and About

At the end of March we attended the thirteenth GeekDinner at Tao Yuan in Sea Point. As always the evening was filled with networking, fine food, good presentations and great company. Be sure to attend the next GeekDinner in May by reserving your seat on the GeekDinner wiki.

On Friday, 3 April, Christine and Jonathan attended the South African Blog Awards ceremony at Chevelle in Cape Town. The event was incredibly well attended and slickly organised. Well done to all the nominees and winners. While there were no big surprises on the night, 2oceansvibe stood out as a clear favourite this year scooping awards for Blog of the Year, Best Entertainment Blog, Most Humorous Blog, Best Post on a South African Blog, Best Original Writing and Most Controversial Blog. Thanks must go to the organisers and sponsors of the evening, it was a fantastic event and we look forward to seeing who gets nominated next year.
