12 May 2010

Dear subscriber,

It seems as though Cape Town skipped autumn and went straight to winter! Long summer days are a thing of the past (for the next couple of months at least), but nothing beats the chilly weather like a hot beverage! If you're in the area, Mugged on Roeland serve an amazing hot chocolate and great cappuccinos. We'd be all too happy to join you if you give us a call!

This month, our focus is on Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising and we're offering our newsletter readers a free PPC audit. If you have an existing PPC campaign, our audit will highlight ways in which the campaign can be improved to increase conversions and lower your average cost per click. If you don't have a PPC campaign, but want to know how paid search can increase leads and sales for your business, we'll put together a proposal with recommendations. Email us to find out more!

If you love the digital world, are an OCD tech follower and exceptionally deadline oriented (or know someone that is!) get in touch with us as we have a vacancy for a Technical Web Project Manager. Email us to find out more!

As usual, below are some of the events we attended in April, details of conferences we are going to attend in May and a selection of the most interesting articles we came across in the past month.

Out and About

More than 120 people gathered to see Cape Town's geeks strut their stuff at Breadline Africa's "Geek Fashion Show" on 26 April.

The event was a huge success and the money raised will be used at Breadline Africa's discretion to aid their various projects to alleviate poverty in Africa. If you didn't attend the fashion show but would like to donate to Breadline Africa, please visit their website. You can also visit Breadline Africa's fan page to see the photos from the Geek Fashion Show. Rumour has it there is a video too, as soon as we get our hands on it we'll let you know!

On 13 May, some of the industry's most creative thinkers and entrepreneurs will gather at Net Prophet 2010 to discuss and share stories and ideas. AlterSage will be
represented by Carla, Christine and Jonathan, if you're attending drop us an email and we'll meet up.
